RCMP release:

East Hants District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Selma.

On September 7, at approximately 9:40 a.m., East Hants District RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Hwy. 215.

Responding officers located a Nissan Rogue that appeared to have gone off the road into a ditch and hit a culvert. The driver and only occupant, a 79-year-old man from Maitland, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the crash; the investigation is ongoing.

The section of Hwy. 215 from Maitland to Salem Rd. was closed for several hours and has since reopened.
