RCMP investigating suspicious incident
Halifax District RCMP is investigating a report of a suspicious person who is alleged to have approached a young girl on a trail in Fall River.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on November 24, an 11-year-old girl was walking her dog on a trail that runs from Duart Ave. to Aberdeen Dr. when she came across a van parked at the end on Duart Ave. The van was blocking the trail and a man inside asked the girl if she wanted candy. The girl ran back to her home and told her parents who then called police. Patrols were made in the area for the vehicle and suspect but they were not located.
The man is described as 30-35-years-old with long curly dirty blonde hair, a scruffy beard and possibly brown eyes. He was wearing an orange hat backwards, a black t-shirt and orange/maroon shorts. The van is described to be black in colour with front tinted windows and no windows in the back and looked similar to an ambulance but all black.
Halifax District RCMP is asking for residents in the area with security cameras to check their security camera footage for the suspect van between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on November 24.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at (902) 490-5020. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips App.
