RCMP investigating targeted homicide in East Preston

Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating a homicide believed to have occurred on Brian St. in East Preston.

This morning, at approximately 2 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious death on Brian St. in East Preston. RCMP officers found the body of a deceased man on the side of the road at the end of a driveway. The RCMP is investigating the death as a homicide.

At this time, we believe the incident was targeted in nature. There is no risk to the public.

The investigation is being led by the Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office, Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, RCMP police dog services and Halifax District RCMP.
