Investigators assigned to the Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit have located what are believed to be the remains of Michelle Marie Demers-Kennedy.
Earlier this week, investigators identified a burial site in North Framboise.
The remains were located in the woods off North Framboise Road. Investigators, assisted by RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the Medical Examiner’s office, are currently at the scene. Once the remains are excavated, RCMP will work closely with the Medical Examiner’s office to confirm the identity.
Demers-Kennedy was reported missing to Richmond County RCMP on May 12th, 2013 from her Framboise residence. Merlin Kennedy pled guilty to Manslaughter on May 20th, 2015. He remains in custody until his sentencing on June 19th,2015 in Port Hawkesbury Supreme Court.
