RCMP looking for info on Preston shooting, setting up checkpoint with family

Friday, April 23, 2010 Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S…. Members of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crime Section are holding an information check point today starting at 11:00 A.M. at the intersection of North Preston Road and Johnson Road, North Preston.
Investigators will be handing out information on the Jerell Aaron Wright homicide which happened at 10:45 P.M. on May 13, 2009 on Clarence Street, North Preston.  Investigators believe that Jerell Wright was not in the area alone that night and  that he was not the intended target of the shooting.  Jerell Wright’s family will also be in attendance of the Check Point to today to assist investigators in distributing information flyers.

The Nova Scotia Justice Minister announced today that the Wright homicide has been added to the Nova Scotia Major Unsolved Crimes Program and information leading to an arrest and conviction could lead to a reward of $150,000 dollars.
