Digby County RCMP arrested a male suspected in a stabbing incident that occurred overnight at a residence on Water Street.
At 2:45 p.m. today, Digby RCMP received a call from a man reporting to have been stabbed overnight.
The investigation revealed that a 48-year-old Annapolis County man had been stabbed a number of times by another male. The victim had obtained medical treatment and was released from hospital with non-life threatening injuries prior to contacting RCMP.
A search warrant was executed at a Digby residence today and the suspect, a 52-year-old male from Digby County was arrested without incident. The male is currently being held in custody and will be appearing in Digby Provincial Court on April 20th, 2015. He is facing a charge of Aggravated Assault at this time. The individuals were known to each other and this was not a random act. The investigation is ongoing.
