The RCMP’s Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit has charged a Halifax District RCMP member with Criminal Harassment.
In December 2015, an investigation began into allegations of criminal harassment involving 31-year-old Cst. John James Robinson and an adult male. The men were known to one another.
Criminal harassment includes persistent, unsolicited communication or repeatedly following or watching an individual. In this instance, it is alleged that Cst. Robinson was repeatedly communicating with the adult male both on and off duty between May 1, 2014 and June 19, 2016. During that time, Cst. Robinson worked in Cole Harbour and Lower Sackville.
Cst. Robinson has been placed on administrative duties. An internal Code of Conduct investigation is also underway in relation to Cst. Robinson’s conduct.
The alleged criminal harassment arises from relationships outside of the workplace.
