RCMP notifying public of man released on conditions in Hants County

Nova Scotia RCMP would like to update the public on a matter involving an individual who was charged with sexual offences in November 2017.

Aaron Byron Cumberland, 27, previously worked with children as a tennis coach in the Kentville area. He was charged by the RCMP in November 2017 with Luring of a Child x 3, Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child and Invitation to Sexual Touching. He was arrested by police on November 17, 2017. Today, police have learned that Cumberland has been released pending a trial and wish to advise the public of the conditions of his release, which include:

  • Be subject to electronic monitoring
  • Remain within 100 km of Windsor
  • No contact with the victims or anyone under the age of 18
  • Not to possess any device capable of accessing the internet
  • Prove compliance with electronic device condition by allowing police to search for such devices
  • Daily curfew from​ 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Cumberland is five foot seven inches tall, with a slim build, dark hair and brown eyes. He has gone by the aliases ‘Aaron Austin’ and ‘Aaron-Felix Austin’, and also goes by the nickname ‘Hiro’. While released, CUMBERLAND will be residing in Hants County. He is scheduled to return to court on August 29 in Kentville Provincial Court.
