RCMP partner with agencies to improve child safety

Halifax District RCMP is partnering up with the Eastern Shore Family Resource Association and the IWK Child Safety Link to help improve child safety in vehicles.

On Friday, November 24, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Halifax District RCMP will conduct an educational traffic checkpoint on Forrest Hills Parkway in Cole Harbour where car seat inspectors from our partner agencies will be present to ensure your car seat is suitable for your child and installed properly. If you would like to have your child’s car seat inspected by a trained inspector, you will be re-directed in to the parking lot of the Saint Vincent de Paul Parish at 320 Flying Cloud Dr.

“We often see people make some common mistakes when it comes to booster seats and car seats,” says Cst. Blair Dole, Community Policing Officer, Halifax District RCMP. “Car seat and booster seats fall into three categories: choosing the right seat, installing it correctly and properly securing the harness.”
