RCMP probing deadly crash that closed highway for several hours

RCMP release:

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash near Fall River.

On October 10, at approximately 3:10 p.m., RCMP, EHS and fire services responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 118. Officers learned a Hyundai Accent was travelling south when it went off the road and into the ditch.

The driver and lone occupant of the Hyundai, a 21-year-old man from Hanwell, New Brunswick, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the crash; the investigation is ongoing.

The highway was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
