RCMP reaching out to the public following arrest for sexual offences

Eskasoni RCMP have charged a man with a number of offences relating to incidents that occurred between 2011 and 2019 in Eskasoni. Police are reaching out to the public in the event there may be more victims.

On November 20, Eskasoni RCMP received information indicating recent and historical sexual assaults. An investigation identified three victims.

On November 23, investigators arrested Joel Nathan Denny, 67, of Eskasoni without incident. He has been charged with:

  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Sexual Exploitation x 9
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Sexual Assault x 9
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Sexual Interference x 3
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Invitation to Sexual Touching x 3

Denny was held in custody and will be appearing in Sydney Provincial Court on Monday, November 25.

The RCMP is reaching out to the public in the event there may be more victims.
