RCMP release name of driver killed on Highway 125, Sydney River, N.S.

RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services are releasing the name of the driver who died on Thursday morning on Highway 125 in Sydney River. At approximately 8:25 a.m. yesterday, RCMP, Sydney River Fire Dept and Emergency Health Services (EHS) responded to a report of a head-on collision near Exit 6.

At approximately 8:25 a.m. yesterday, RCMP, Sydney River Fire Dept and Emergency Health Services (EHS) responded to a report of a head-on collision near Exit 6.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a car traveling eastbound collided with a dump truck traveling westbound. After impact, the truck landed on its side.

Christopher Anthony Rudnicki, 23, of Sydney Mines, succumbed to his injuries in hospital as a result of the collision. The investigation into this collision is continuing.
