Motorists are reminded to stay well below the speed limit and be prepared to stop at any time. Children dressed in dark costumes can dart out from anywhere. It’s also important not to pass any stopped cars as they may be dropping children off. Newly licensed drivers should also be extra careful on Halloween night as there are many distractions on the road.
“Halloween is one of the busiest nights for pedestrian traffic and in all the excitement, it’s easy to understand why children may forget road safety rules,” says Sgt. Brigdit Leger, RCMP Media Relations Officer. “That is why we are asking all motorists to please watch out for our children to keep them safe.”
Lets all do our part to make sure Halloween is full of treats and no tragedies.
