Saturday, October 9th, 2010 Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S. …. Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Halifax District responded to numerous complaints of punctured tires in Eastern Passage shortly after 0700 hours. Members from Cole Harbour office also discovered several other residences whose vehicles had also been victimized, but a report had not yet been made by the home owners.
Vehicles on several streets were victimized: Caldwell Road ( 1500 to high 1700s), Sweet Briar Gate, Hornes Road, Sailers Trail, Ridding Road, and Shore Road.
The suspect(s) are believed to have been on foot.
The damage is believed to have occurred between midnight to 0400 hours. At least twenty homes were targeted and approximately 50 vehicles had one or more tires punctured.
All vehicle owners in this area are being asked to carefully check their tires on all of their vehicles. Most of the affected tires have at least two to three small holes in them. There is always the possibility of driving around with a punctured tire, that may have a slow leak, but is not easily visible upon inspection.
Residents are encouraged to immediately report any suspicious activity in their neigbourhood.
