Halifax District RCMP are currently investigating a boating incident that occurred in Wreck Cove, Lower Prospect earlier today.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., Halifax District RCMP, EHS and Halifax Regional Fire received a 911 call of a capsized kayak with one man in the water. The man was with a group kayakers when his kayak overturned. Bystanders pulled the 67-year-old man from the water and performed CPR. Unfortunately the male passed away.

The investigation is continuing.
