RCMP responds to attempted armed robbery, Yarmouth, N.S.

Earlier today, members from Yarmouth Town and Yarmouth Rural RCMP Detachments responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery at Red Knight Enterprises Ltd on Starrs Rd.

, Yarmouth.

A preliminary investigation determined that at approximately 10:00 a.m., a lone male walked into the business with what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and knife. No one was hurt and it is not believed he was able to get any money or valuables.

The suspect is described as a white male with a stocky build, approximately 5’8′. The suspect was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt, blue jeans, mask, sunglasses and gloves. The suspect entered and exited the business from the side door and headed towards Pleasant Street.

The Yarmouth/Meteghan Street Crime Enforcement Unit, the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and Police Dog Service responded to assist with the investigation.
