Lunenburg County District RCMP is investigating a theft that occurred from a vehicle parked at a residence on Cornwall Rd. in Blockhouse on November 14. Several items were taken, including 4 service medals, a camouflage ruck sack, trench spade shovel, camouflage carrying pouch, camouflage vest, two sleeping bags, tactical helmet and knee high winter boots. The following day, a passing motorist noticed a number of items strewn about in the ditch not far from the scene. All items except 4 service medals and a knife were recovered.
The medals are described as New Zealand Operational Service Medal, New Zealand Afghanistan Primary Medal, New Zealand Special Service Medal, New Zealand Defence Medal with Regular Clasp.
