RCMP would like to thank the public and media after missing teen found in Beaver Bank.
Late afternoon, RCMP with GSAR volunteers set up near the old Radar site in Beaver Bank to search for any signs of missing Makayla. They focused on paths and trees in the area, at one point using a helicopter. However, it was reported that she has been found and is safe away from the search area.
GSAR volunteers (ground search and rescue) assist police in the Halifax area frequently, and are very appreciated for their efforts, in all weather and terrains, on their own time to do so.
RCMP also appreciate the use of social media when it comes to searching for missing persons.

March 9, 2016, Halifax District RCMP received a call from a concerned citizen about the well being of a 16-year-old Lower Sackville female.
Makayla Demarco was last seen in the Beaver Bank area shortly before midnight yesterday and has not been heard from since. She is described as a white female, 5’8″ tall, medium build, with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing grey leggings, a black bomber style jacket, a cream colored shirt, brown work-type boots with wool socks over her tights.
The Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating.
