RCMP thanks volunteers for continued support

In honour of National Volunteer Week 2011, the RCMP wishes to thank and recognize volunteers for their integral role in the delivery of police services to the province.

In Nova Scotia, the RCMP is supported by 700 volunteers who are actively engaged at the community level and donate countless hours to their communities and to the detachments they support. The dedication and commitment of our volunteers greatly contributes to the enhancement of services provided to Nova Scotia by the RCMP.

Insp. Greg Bursey, officer-in-charge of Community, Aboriginal and Diversity Policing Services says, ” Volunteers are to be recognized for their heart-felt enthusiasm and their limitless abilities which have helped us see a positive change in our communities and organization. They give freely of their time, knowledge and talent, helping to build better, stronger and safer communities.”

In March, RCMP volunteers were recognized for their 5, 10, 15, 20 (+) years of service with signed certificates and an RCMP volunteer pin.
