Kings District RCMP is planning for an increase in pedestrian and vehicle traffic in Wolfville during Touchdown Atlantic on July 16.
Touchdown Atlantic is a planned CFL football game between the Toronto Argonauts and the Saskatchewan Roughriders on July 16 at Raymond Field in Wolfville. With the game being sold out, Kings District RCP is expecting over 10,000 people in the Wolfville area throughout the day. As a result of the large increase in people, RCMP are expecting traffic delays.
In partnership with the Town of Wolfville, Kings District RCMP, with the assistance of RCMP Traffic Services, will have an increased presence in the Wolfville area throughout the day. Traffic delays are expected at exits 10 and 11 on Hwy. 101 and, University Rd. in Wolfville will be closed for the day. Activities in Wolfville will begin around 10 a.m. and it is expected that traffic delays will begin prior to this.
Kings District RCMP is asking anyone who is attending the game or travelling to Wolfville on July 16, to give themselves extra time to arrive at their destination. RCMP officers will be monitoring and managing traffic flows in an effort to reduce delays.
Kings District RCMP is also asking that the public enjoy themselves and the activities responsibly throughout the day, in an effort to make the events enjoyable for everyone.
