RCMP Underwater Recovery teams locate body of missing boy, Conquerall Bank, N.S.

Lunenburg County District RCMP have recovered the body of the 12-year-old boy who went missing while swimming in the LaHave River yesterday.

At approximately 8:30 this morning, divers from the Nova Scotia RCMP and New Brunswick RCMP Underwater Recovery Teams located the body close to where the boy was last seen.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 12:45 p.m. yesterday, the boy went swimming in the LaHave River with three other youths when he went under the water and did not resurface.
The RCMP wishes to thank the Lunenburg and Queens Ground Search and Rescue teams, the Canadian Coast Guard, the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources, and numerous Fire and EHS personnel who assisted with the search.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the boy during this extremely difficult time.
