RCMP warn public about inappropriate behaviour

May 9, 2016, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia . . . Halifax District RCMP would like to warn the public about a man behaving inappropriately around females.

On May 3, near 6 p.m., a female called police to report a man in a pickup truck was driving by her car on the highway and making it obvious that he was masturbating. This occurred in the Northbound lanes of Highway 102 near exit 6. She tried to slow down to let him pass but he stayed close to her vehicle for a few moments before she got away.

On May 6, near 7 p.m., a second female was walking on the side of Highway 102 Northbound, also near exit 6, when she was approached by a man in a newer black pickup truck who offered her a ride. Once she was in the vehicle, the man started making inappropriate comments about her and asking her to do sexual acts. She declined, and asked to be let out of the truck at exit 6. The man did not harm the female victim and let her out of the truck as asked.

The suspect and vehicle in both cases appear to be similar. The man is described as a white male in his 40’s, about 6′ tall, large build, bald, with a red/ gray goatee, and a fair complexion. He was driving a dark gray or black newer pickup truck, possibly with leather seats and running boards.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the suspect in this incident to contact Halifax District RCMP at (902) 490-5020 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. The public can also get in touch with Crime Stoppers by texting TIP202 and a message to CRIMES (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
