RCMP/Halifax Police Drug Unit Makes Two More Busts

Halifax Police and RCMP made three arrests in two separate drug busts in Halifax over the last 72 hours.

 

From Halifax Police:

 

“Last evening, members of the unit, assisted by the West Division Quick Response Unit, executed a search warrant at a Main Avenue residence. Seized was a quantity of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and also a loaded handgun. Thirty-seven-year-old David Stephen Russell, of Halifax, arrested without incident as a result of a nearby traffic stop at the time of the search, appeared in court today charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and numerous offences pertaining to possession of the firearm.

Just after ten this morning, members of the unit along with a West Division Community Response officer arrested a man, 50, and woman, 31, in possession of a quantity of marijuana in a parking lot on Dentith Road. Those arrests resulted in a search of an apartment in the 100 block of Old Sambro Road, where more marijuana was discovered. The man and woman, both from Halifax, were later released, scheduled to appear in court at a later date charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.”
