RDV 2017 Tall Ships Sail Past for Annapolis Royal

Nova Scotia’s final farewell to the Rendez-Vous 2017 (RDV 2017) Tall Ships Regatta will take place in Annapolis Royal on Wednesday, Aug. 16.

Eight tall ships, including Bluenose II, Bowdoin, Lord Nelson, Picton Castle, St. Lawrence II, When and If, HMCS Oriole, and Wylde Swan, are scheduled to leave Digby Wednesday afternoon for an arrival at Annapolis Royal between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

How close the ships can safely get to Annapolis Royal depends on the weather.

The final decision as to how far each of the tall ships is comfortable sailing on the Annapolis River will be made by the captain of each vessel Wednesday afternoon and should be announced no later than 2 p.m. subject to changing conditions.

Waterfront Development, in partnership with local organizations, has arranged for viewing of the tall ships on several large screens in Annapolis Royal.
