Recall: Portable generators may catch fire

Government of Canada release:

Generac Portable Generators have been urgently recalled due to a significant fire and burn hazard. The issue arises from a malfunction where the generators fail to vent properly, leading to a dangerous buildup of pressure in the gas tank. This can result in fuel being expelled when opened, posing a direct threat to users. As of September 14, 2023, while there have been no reported incidents in Canada, the United States has seen 27 reports, with three resulting in severe burn injuries. Owners of these generators are strongly advised to cease usage immediately and contact Generac for a free repair kit.
