Friday, April 25, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – On Monday, April 28 work will start on the final reinstatement of pavement in the trench area affected by the new natural gas main along Cogswell Street from Gottingen Street, through the intersection of Cogswell/North Park/Ahern/Trollope and eventually continuing along Ahern Avenue.
The pipe installation was completed back in December. As winter conditions have been lifted, the contractors are now returning to pave the affected sections permanently.
The work will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. During the construction on Cogswell, the road will be open to one-way traffic only. Eastbound traffic (from North Park Street toward Gottingen Street) will be permitted, but westbound traffic (from Gottingen Street to North Park Street) will be detoured between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The traffic signals will remain operational during the construction. The work is expected to take approximately a week and a half.
Motorists should expect delays in the area and are encouraged to use alternative routes.
Heritage Gas and Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
