Remembrance Day Curbside Collection Notice

Tuesday, November 5, 2013 – Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) would like to remind residents that there will be no regular municipal solid waste collection services on Remembrance Day.

Curbside collection of garbage, organics or recyclables normally scheduled for Monday, November 11 will occur the preceding Saturday, November 9.

Collection services can begin as early as 7 a.m. To ensure collection, residents may place materials curbside the evening prior to collection day.

The Otter Lake Waste Management Facility and the HRM Recycling Plant will be closed on Remembrance Day but will be open regular hours on Saturday, November 9.

HRM’s residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot at 20 Horseshoe Lake Dr. will be closed on Saturday, November 9, but will be open on Saturday, November 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
