What: Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police Showcase & Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day

Where: Halifax Shopping Centre, lower level near the Sears entrance.

Vehicles will be parked outside near the Sears entrance.

When: Saturday, May 9th from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Police Showcase features several specialized police units and will include displays, demonstrations, and activities. Police officers will be available to answer questions from the public, and a number of police and law enforcement vehicles will be on site – giving the public a rare chance to jump into the driver’s seat of a police cruiser. Displays and booths will be located on the lower level of Halifax Shopping Centre, near the Sears entrance. Police vehicles will be parked outside, near the same entrance.

During the Police Showcase, the HRM Public Safety Office in conjunction with the Nova Scotia Chiefs of Police Association will host a free drop-off location as part of National Prescription Drug Drop-off Day. This drop-off location is an easy way for the public to dispose of unused and expired prescription drugs in a safe and environmentally friendly way. This is the third year for the event, and Nova Scotia Health Authority will be in attendance to accept the prescription drugs as they did in 2014.
