“While some acts may be considered minor, others carry the risk of someone being seriously injured or killed,” says Sgt. Brigdit Leger, Media Relations Officer. “Setting fires and blocking roads with debris puts everyone at risk. If a road is blocked and an emergency happens, emergency crews may not be able to get to you or your loved one in a timely manner.”
The RCMP will be out in communities ensuring that everyone has a safe Halloween. Those who choose to break the law and put themselves and others at risk of harm will be arrested and can be fined or imprisoned.
If you see vandalism taking place, call police or you can call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
