Report Of Firearm Discharge, Police Take 16-Year-Old Into Custody

At approximately 6:40 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a residence in the 0-100 block of Valkyrie Cr. In Dartmouth for a report of a firearm being discharged inside of the residence.

Officers arrived on scene quickly and found a 16 year old female uninjured in the residence. It was learned that a 16 year old male had fled the residence before police arrived. The area was contained and a short time later the 16 year old male was taken in to custody. A firearm was located in the residence. At this time police do not believe that the firearm was discharged at anyone. Officers are still on scene and the investigation is continuing.
