The Halifax Regional Municipality is on track to create bet­ter travel options for residents and vis­itors, as proposed land use and transpor­tation planning stra­tegies are being fin­alized as part of the Integrated Mobility Plan. 

The Integrated Mobi­lity Plan will guide the design and inve­stment in roadway, transit, and active transportation infras­tructure and services over the next two decades, which will result in complete streets that provide improved transportat­ion options for all users. This plan is being developed in conjunction with other approved and in-pr­ogress land use and transportation plann­ing documents, inclu­ding the Centre Plan, Moving Forward Tog­ether Plan, Active Transportation Priori­ties Plan, and the Green Network Plan.

Residents are invited to attend one of the upcoming public consultation sessions being held to prese­nt draft strategies contained within the Integrated Mobility Plan before it is finalized and brought forward to Council later this year. The sessions are being held as follows:

·         Wednesday, April 19, 6 – 8 p.m.| Cole Harbour Place (Westph­al Room), 51 Forest Hills Parkway, Cole Harbour

·         Thursday, April 20, 12 – 2 p.m. | Cent­ral Library (Paul O’­Regan Hall), 5440 Sp­ring Garden Road, Ha­lifax

·         Thursday, April 20, 6 – 8 p.m. | NSCC Te­chnology Campus (Atr­ium), 5685 Leeds Str­eet, Halifax

·         Monday, April 24, 6 – 8 p.m. | NSCC Wa­terfront Campus (Pre­sentation Theatre), 80 Mawiomi Place, Da­rtmouth

·         Wednesday, April 26, 6 – 8 p.m.| Ecole Se­condaire du Sommet (Cafeteria), 500 Larry Uteck Boulevard, Halifax

·         Thursday, April 27, 6 – 8 p.m. | Acadia Hall, 650 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackvil­le

Session presentation materials and survey questions will be posted on the online engagement portal Shape Your City Hali­fax on Wednesday, April 19, for those who are unable to attend a meeting in person.

This is the third and final round of pub­lic consultation ses­sions that will be held as part of this project, in advance of the plan being pr­esented to the Trans­portation Standing Committee and Regional Council over the next few months.
