Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to attend a presentation and provide comments this week on the proposed Fort Needham Memorial Park design, which is part of the overall park master planning process.
The purpose of the Fort Needham Memorial Park Master Plan is to develop a design vision for the park that balances its national and regional commemorative significance with the local recreational needs and open space objectives.
The master plan is based on the results of several community engagements that have taken place since 2014 in anticipation of the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Halifax Explosion.
Meeting & Presentation:
Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, 7 p.m.
United Memorial Church, Social Room
5350 Young Street, Halifax
(Accessible elevator on west side of the building)
Following this round of consultation staff will compile the public feedback to accompany the proposed Fort Needham Memorial Park Master Plan, being brought forward later this fall for consideration by Regional Council.
