Residents of a Fall River area residence were forced to leave their residence after their building filled with smoke last night.
At approximately 8:20pm on Saturday February 23rd, reports began to flow in that a building near Highway 2 and Sunnylea Rd in Wellington had been evacuated, and emergency crews were on site. Nova Scotia Power temporarily disconnected power to just over 1,000 customers in the surrounding area while a power line connected to the building was repaired, and some resdents complained that they were told the power utility couldn’t reach them for an hour.
Power crews were on site just before 9pm. No injuries were reported, and power was restored to the area after only about 20 minutes. No word on the cause.
