On August 8, Nova Scotia’s surfer girls took over Lawrencetown Beach for the One Life Surfari, the only annual women’s surf contest in Eastern Canada.

The results were as follows:

Shortboard:
1st: Julie Baldwin
2nd (tied): Kim Childs and Janine Strickland

Longboard:
1st: Kim Childs
2nd: Michelle Richards
3rd: Caralee Murphy

Junior:
1st: Sylvie
2nd: Colin

Sponsors of the contest included Billabong, EC Lips, One Life Surf School and Spa, Kustom and VonZipper. Red Bull was also on-hand to provide refreshments.
