ReTales April13: The End of late night Taco Bell, Extreme Pita Closes, BOOMBurger, Pavia Gallery, Subway and Free Gelato

BOOMburger from PEI is finishing up their new Larry Uteck location and expect to be open in May; BOOM is described as a Five Guys clone.

The Pizza Hut is on Young is closing, to make way for the new development on that piece of land, still no word on where Michaels is going.

The Pizza Hut though will be integrating with the KFC on Quinpool pushing Taco Bell out that means no more late night Taco Bell as the only 2 locations left will be in the Halifax Shopping Centre and Mic Mac food courts.

From 2-8 on Tuesday, April 15 Humani-T on South Park or Agricola, will have free gelato though a donation is appreciated and all donations this year will be going to Feed NS

2 new Subway‘s on the way, one going in Scotia Square where Ray’s Falafel was , and one at the airport before security, beside where the bookstore is.

Speaking of the airport in a long term HIAA development plan, they are planning to build a big box centre beside the airport.

The Jiffy Lube on Robie @ North is being replaced by a Needs, rumour is that the Sobeys controlled Shell Station will be coming down and the station will be re-branded  as Fast Fuel.

Recommendation is going to council on Tuesday to approve Herring Cove’s Pavia Gallery as the operator of the new Halifax Central Library’s ground floor and top floor cafe’s . Uncommon Grounds and Second Cup were the other bidders.
