Revenge – So Long, Sammy

Revenge – So Long, Sammy Guys guys guys. There’s only one more episode of Revenge left! Can you believe it? This show has flown by, and frankly I could go back and watch the entire season again right now if I had time.

Last night’s penultimate episode was a juicy one that gave people a lot to enjoy. There was some hardcore Emily scheming, some icy Victoria-Conrad moments, a whole lot of Nolan greatness, and a scandalous kiss.

We’ll start with the white-haired man. I love this new character because he’s mysterious, and because every time he’s mentioned it reminds me of Fugitive and the one-armed man, which I love. So much that happened here was pitch perfect writing and acting. Emily managed to trick Conrad into meeting with him, and when she suddenly couldn’t go tail him (thanks a lot, Daniel) she had Nolan do it.

But no fake business card? Nolan, you’re no Emily.

Nolan complied, but he didn’t want Emily to kill the man – that was obviously her plan – so he gave her a taste of her own manipulative medicine, sending her to the wrong address while he entered the man’s home disguised as a cable guy and set up surveillance equipment.

But the white-haired man is very, very dangerous so we knew it wouldn’t end there. Just as Nolan was bragging to Emily about his smooth move, he was attacked. Looks like the season finale will involve some kind of rescue mission!

The other big storyline was the death of Sammy – the dog has been a thing that still ties Emily and Jack together, since the very beginning, and he did just that in his death. He died in Emily’s house, in Jack’s arms, and later the two shared a pretty damn passionate kiss – one that, of course, Miss Social Climber Ashley witnessed. You know that won’t stay private, since Ashley was already peeved at Emily for paying no attention to her wedding plans.

Speaking of the wedding, I’m so glad I finally get to root against Daniel. Throughout much of the season he was an innocent bystander. You hated him because he’s a Grayson, but you didn’t really hate him. He was just there, complicating things for Emily. We never knew how much she truly cared about him, what she’d be willing to do to him in the name of revenge, and whether her feelings had clouded her vision. But now we know. Now he’s officially a villain, cut from the same cloth as his father. Emily hates him, she wants to take him down, and she’s marrying him anyway. That’s juicy.

Then we have the rest of the Grayson family. It’s amazing how Victoria can still be a villain in some ways, yet be working towards a similar goal as Emily, plotting against Conrad. It’s delicious, especially with that tramp Lydia in the mix. But Victoria has a blind spot, Daniel – only now does she truly know his allegiances. What will she do about them?

Oh, and poor Charlotte. Trapped in the worst family of all time, she turned to Declan for comfort but…OK, that part of the story bores me. Charlotte is a train wreck and who wouldn’t be? The end.

When the episode concluded, Daniel arrived home with a briefcase containing the very important evidence that Victoria had stolen and then given to him. And Emily is right there, waiting…

Quote of the episode, courtesy of Nolan: “You may be a lot of things: black belt in karate, impeccable dresser, and a certified sociopath, but you’re not a killer.”
