Revised South Street & South Park Street Bus Detours starting Wednesday, December 2

Starting noon on Wednesday, December 2, road construction work will close portions of South Street and South Park Street in Halifax. South Street will be closed from Queen Street to South Park Street. South Park Street will be closed from South Street to Morris Street/University Avenue. Detours are scheduled to be in effect until December 22, 2009.

Halifax Metro Transit buses will detour as follows:

  • Route 7 (Robie to Gottingen via South St.) will travel south on Robie St., left on South St., right on South Park St., left on Inglis St. returning to regular route on Barrington St.
  • Route 7 (Gottingen to Robie via Downtown and South St.) & Route 41 (To Dalhousie) will travel south on Barrington St. to Inglis St., right on South Park St., left onto regular route on South St.
  • Route 17 Saint Mary’s & Route 18 Universities will travel south on Robie St., left on Inglis St., left on South Park St., left onto South St. continuing on normal route on Robie St.
  • Route 10 Dalhousie (to Westphal) & Route 14 will travel from Inglis St., left on South Park St., left on South St., right on Robie St., then right onto Spring Garden Rd.

Current bus detours for routes 10 Dalhousie (To Dalhousie) and Route 14 (to Mumford/Leiblin Park) will remain unchanged.

  • Route 10 (to Dalhousie) will travel west on Spring Garden Rd., left on South Park St., right on University Ave., left on Robie St., right on Inglis St. to resume regular routing.
  • Route 14 (to Mumford/Lieblin Park) will travel west on Spring Garden Rd., left to South Park St., right on University Ave., left on Robie St., right on South St. to resume regular routing.
