Revlon Selects – Nails

I was sent some new products from Revlon to try out and share feedback, as part of the Revlon Selects program. This post is dedicated to the nail products, the makeup will follow.

On the top is a Revlon Diamond Collection file – one side shape the nails (like a normal nail file) and the other side sparkles (like what I would do lol).
In the middle is a Revlon Nail Art Expressionist, with a skinny nail art brush on one end.
And lastly, a Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy. It is my luck that that Revlon sent me a shade of Moon Candy that I didn’t already have. After the haul weekend or two ago, I have collected 5 tubes already.
You would guess that the flakies would be the first thing I wanted to try. The other items would follow in another post 🙂

This is Nail Art Moon Candy in Orbit, with a dark purple on one end and purple and teal flakies in clear base on the other.
The purple was an awesome one coater, dark but not too dark to be near black. The light sheen of shimmers in the bottle transferred very little on to the nails, but I didn’t mind as I did not intend to wear it alone.
Not that I didn’t like it by itself, but two end together only have 0.26oz/ 7.68ml, so I’d wait to use them together. The design is great for travelling too.

And this is the mani after the flakie top coat and a regular top coat.
The base was a little thick, and for the flakie concentration, I used dabbing motion instead of swiping. The flakes looked teal most of the time, light purple and even clear some other time.
Since the flakes are chunkier than in regular flakie nail polish, the look might take a bit of getting used to. And I could still feel them after a top coat, double up if you need to.
I’m sick at home today, bummer. Hope your Monday has been going well.
