Rip currents and large coastal waves lead to no-swimming advisory on Monday

Provincial release:

Swimming and Surfing Not Advised at Atlantic Coastal Beaches – Monday August 19

Swimming is not recommended at provincial beaches along the Atlantic coast on Monday August 19th. Please avoid the water for swimming and surfing due to dangerous surf conditions, large waves, and rip currents. Lifeguards will be present at supervised beaches advising beachgoers to stay out of the water.

This advisory is in place for the following beaches:

— Queensland Beach, HRM
— Rainbow Haven Beach, HRM
— Conrads Beach, HRM
— Lawrencetown Beach, HRM
— Martinique Beach, HRM
— Clam Harbour Beach, HRM

Lifeguards are not present at Clam Harbour on weekdays.
