Risk of exposure to carbon monoxide – Condensing Tankless Water Heater and Combination Boiler recall #m

Navien has identified a non-conforming specification in the natural gas (NG) to propane gas (LP) conversion kit that is supplied as an accessory with each unit. If the kit is installed in order to use propane gas rather than natural gas to fuel the unit, and if not properly vented, it could pose a risk of exposure to carbon monoxide.IMG_20181220_163110

Consumer should immediately contact Navien Inc. for a replacement conversion kit to be installed.

  • If the water heater or boiler has been converted to use propane gas, as long as the product is properly vented to the outdoors, the consumer may continue to use the product until the repair has been made.
  • If there are any concerns about the integrity of the vent system or if you are unsure whether the unit is properly vented, immediately discontinue use of the product until the replacement conversion kit is installed, and ensure that a properly installed and functioning carbon monoxide detector is present.
