Tuesday, August 20, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – Beginning on Sunday, August 25 and continuing for approximately two days, there will be a road closure on the Cow Bay Road at Civic 595 to accommodate the installation of a new culvert at Smelt Brook.

The work includes removing the existing pipe culvert and installation of a new box culvert. The new culvert will have wider lanes and will allow space for a future sidewalk.

HRM will be proceeding with this work beginning Sunday, August 25 based on the current dry conditions. Any large amount of rain will require that this work be rescheduled on a week to week basis. A Public Service Announcement will be issued if there any changes to the current plans.

During this closure motorists will be rerouted around Caldwell Road and Bissett Road. The length of the detour is approximately 22 kilometers.
