Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Queen Street in Halifax will be closed to traffic between South Street and Kent Street for about a two-week period starting Wednesday, Sept. 10, to continue with the installation of water and sewer pipes in the area.
The street will be closed during the week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., until Friday, Sept. 26. Crews plan to reopen the street on evenings and weekends, however, there may be times when construction requires the street to remain closed through the night.
The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians and crews will accommodate local traffic and access to the Sobeys on Queen Street during the closure.
Motorists should expect some delays and are strongly advised to use alternative routes, if possible. The municipality apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this closure or the installation work may cause.
