Road Closures for Multifest Parade

Thursday, June 25, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to plan their travel accordingly on Saturday, June 27, as there will be road closures and heavy traffic associated with the Multifest Parade in downtown Halifax.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on the Garrison Grounds, exiting onto Ahern Street heading south, continuing on Bell Road and South Park Street, east on Spring Garden Road, south on Barrington Street, east on Morris Street, south on Hollis Street and finally east on Terminal Road, where the participants will disperse.

The affected roads will be closed when the parade begins, with the exception of Hollis Street, which will close when the parade reaches Morris. Halifax Regional Police will be on hand to help direct traffic.

All the affected streets will reopen by approximately noon on Saturday. There will be no parking on the affected streets during the event. Signage will be in place for the road closures and parking meters will be bagged identifying where parking restrictions will occur along the route.

The Nova Scotia Multicultural Festival, or Multifest, is the largest multicultural festival east of Montreal and features many talented performers and artisans who offer a variety of music, dance and entertainment activities for patrons of all ages.
