HRM Release:
(Thursday, August 12/10)– Motorists are advised that, Heritage Gas, in conjunction with its contractor R.B. Sommerville, are continuing with the installation of a natural gas steel pipeline on Bedford Highway between Flamingo Drive and Tremont Drive. This work is part of a pipeline project which will extend a natural gas transmission line from the Halifax Peninsula to the Bedford area.
The pipeline routing and width of the roadway through this area requires that traffic be limited to one lane stop and go. To minimize traffic impacts and alleviate traffic and safety concerns:
1) Construction will take place on the nights of Aug. 12th and Aug. 16th to 20th inclusive between the hours of 6 PM and 6 AM.
2) At the Flamingo Drive intersection, construction will take place on a 24 hour basis from Friday Aug.13 at 6 PM to Monday August 16 at 5 AM.
Construction of this portion of the project should be complete by August 21. Where possible, motorists should plan alternate routes for the time of this construction.
Heritage Gas and HRM apologize for any inconvenience.
