Road rage incident involving handgun leads to charges

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a road rage incident involving a handgun that occurred on Main St. in Dartmouth.

On September 14, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of road rage incident involving a handgun. RCMP officers learned that two men were travelling in the same direction on Main St. in Dartmouth when they got in a heated argument. During the argument one of the men brandished a handgun.

That same evening, RCMP officers located and safely arrested a 19-year-old Mineville man at a home on Foxwood Cres. in Mineville and seized the vehicle involved.

On September 15, officers executed a search warrant in relation to the vehicle seized and located a replica handgun.

The 19-year-old man was later released on conditions and faces a charge of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on October 11, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
