Road rage incident on Joe Howe Drive results in charges

Police have charged a man with weapon and drug offences in relation to an incident in Halifax yesterday.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. police responded to a report that a driver had waved a bat out of his window at another driver in the area of Highway 102 near Joseph Howe Drive. Officers stopped the vehicle a short distance away and arrested the driver without incident. Officers seized the bat and a quantity of cocaine.

A 23-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face the following charges:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of cocaine

We remind all drivers to follow the law and remain respectful and courteous of others on the road. If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police. If possible, provide a description of the vehicle, license plate number, place of occurrence and any other pertinent information.
