Robbery, attempted robbery, firearm discharge

 

Halifax Police are investigating three separate incidents overnight.

Robbery
 
At 10:15 P.M.  two teenage males were walking in the area of  Dorothea Drive, Dartmouth when they were approached by two unknown male suspects. The male suspects were armed with handguns and demanded the victim’s cellular phones and gear bags. The male suspects fled on foot and were described as follows:
 
1-     Male, 18 yrs. wearing a bandana and black clothing.
 2-    Male, 18 yrs. wearing a bandana and grey clothing
 
K-9 attended with negative results and the matter is still under investigation.
 
Weapons/Drugs
 
At 1:10 A.M. members were dispatched to  Marvin Street, Dartmouth with regards to a male suspect who had discharged a firearm from his front porch area. As a result of the  investigation a 17 year old male was taken into custody and members seized a 22 cal. rifle and a quantity of marijuana. There was nobody injured during the incident.
 
The youth will appear in court to face weapons and drug related charges.
 
Attempted Robbery
 
At 2:30 A.M. a teenage male was walking in the area of Romans Avenue and Bayers Road, Halifax when he was approached by three unknown males. The males demanded his cash and wallet and when he did not provide same he was physically assaulted by the three suspects. The victim received facial lacerations during the altercation. The male suspects were described as follows:
 
– Three teenage males, 5'8"- 6' tall, one male wearing a white shirt and one male wearing beige shorts and a dark shirt.
 
The area was checked by K-9 with negative results. The matter is still under investigation.
