Robbery on Bedford Highway

On September 2, 2011, shortly after midnight, the Halifax Regional Police responded to the 1400 Block of the Bedford Highway (area of McDonald’s and TD Canada Trust) to a reported armed robbery.

Upon arrival the police located four victims who reported that they were approached by a group of five young persons (3 males and 2 females). One of the males brandished a machete and demanded money. The group complied with the demand and the suspects fled the scene on foot.

Police contained the area and called in K9 who successfully tracked and flushed the group from the woods. Property stolen during the incident was recovered.

The HRP General Investigative Section has taken over the investigation and charges are pending.
