Rolling street closures for Light Up Bedford Parade and Beaver Bank-Kinsac Parade of Lights

Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect rolling street closures in the Bedford and Sackville areas on Sunday, Nov. 20, to accommodate the Light Up Bedford Parade and the Beaver Bank-Kinsac Parade of Lights.

The Light Up Bedford Parade is scheduled to get underway at 5:45 p.m., beginning on Waterfront Drive, proceeding onto Convoy Run, then north on the Bedford Highway to the Bedford Place Mall via River Lane. The parade is expected to wrap up by 6:30 p.m.

In the Sackville area, the Beaver Bank-Kinsac Parade of Lights will kick off at approximately 6 p.m., beginning at Barrett’s Lumber, exiting onto Millwood Drive, proceeding north on Beaver Bank Road and concluding at Kinsac Road by the community centre. The parade is expected to wrap up by 7:15 p.m.

Please note that rolling street closures will be in effect along parade routes for the duration of each parade. Motorists should anticipate long delays during these times and are advised to take alternative routes, if possible.

The municipality regrets any inconvenience these street closures may cause, and hopes all involved in the Light Up Bedford Parade and the Beaver Bank-Kinsac Parade of Lights have a safe and enjoyable evening.
