Members of CUPW’s Nova Local in the Halifax-Dartmouth area are amongst the first to be on the picket line in Canada Post national rotating strikes which begun after midnight.
Rotating strikes now underway for four locations nation-wide which began at 12:01 am.
Postal worker will begin to picket in Victoria (British Columbia), Edmonton (Alberta), Windsor (Ontario), and Halifax.
Other CUPW Nova Local members in the Halifax Regional Municipality who don’t work at any of the three depot locations listed above (ie. CUPW Nova Local members from Ecum Secum to Hubbards) will commence strike activities as their shifts are scheduled to start in the morning.
Negotiations did not result in an agreement as last-minute deals could not be reached triggering the rotating strikes.
